  • Burn off amnesty - Murrindindi Shire Council and the Municipal Fire Prevention Committee has granted a three week fire amnesty from 6 April until the Anzac Day long weekend of 24, 25 and 26 April to allow the burn off of vegetation material such as tree limbs, cuttings and dried leaves.   • Morganna Magee is representing 11 other professional photographers who will be working on a photography project commissioned by the Murrundindi shire. They have been asked to interview and photograph 40 residents of the shire who are aged 55 and above, who had experiences of the Black Saturday fires. The aim is to create a body of work which will portray a "positive aging" message, as well as allow residents to share their experiences of the fires. They are interested in all experiences, from people who were involved in fighting the fires, to people who helped survivors, and those who are helping rebuild.
